So we have new neighbors. They moved in about two weeks ago and they have a dog! The puppies aren't used to having four legged neighbors so there has been a lot more barking going on at our house. They are getting better and will stop when asked, usually. So tonight when they ran outside and started barking I was sure neighbor dog had just come out to get some fresh air. I tried to call them back inside; Chewey running came, Disney came half way and Walle just kept barking. Finally I decided that it must be something other than the dog next door. I put on my shoes, well one of them because the other has gone missing since this afternoon. (Maybe it's joined the toy raccoon in the backyard somewhere?) So I hobbled over to the fence and could hear leaves rustling near the neighbors house. We went in and found Braden's head lamp, the only flashlight we own, and went to investigate. Sure enough there was an Armadillo trying to burrow in the leaves. Poor thing was probably terrified, we finally had to carry Walle inside because he was not going to leave his post :)
So the moral of the story is,
1) Beware my alert dog Walle, he will not let you enter if you are an Alabama Rodent
2) We need to buy another flash light
3) No more leaving my shoes in the living room

Okay, well the Maughan's have decided to rejoin the blog world. I, Jami, am now a stay at home puppy mommy. My Student Teaching is done and I am just trying to figure out how to get the graduation paperwork done from Alabama. Braden is starting his actual flight training today and should be flying a helicopter for the first time on day eleven :) Needless to say, he's pretty excited.
I thought I would give an update on the puppies and this role in the house.
This is the regular saturday morning activity. Braden with my princess blanket, Disney takes any place she wants and Chewey slides on in, or jumps on top. Now for those of you who don't know Chewey is our newest addition. We adopted him when he was eight weeks old and now he's six months old. He's a beagle-terrier mix and he and his litter we abandoned in dumpster in Dothan, Al.
Chewey and Walle had their issues at first. Walle had decided that he wanted to be the man of the house and a new puppy wasn't what he was planning on. But now, as you can see above, they are cuddle buddies.
Chewey is also my cuddle bug. He is some how always able to find the smallest of places to snuggle up to. It is so cute, but his nose is so cold!
Last of all our puppy pictures. First, yes that is me in my Christmas pjs :) Disney is underneath as I pin her to the ground so that we can try and clip her toe nails. We didn't get many clipped but is made for a great picture :) We need to try something new. The treats work for the boys but she just runs away when she sees the clippers anywhere near her feet. We never even clipped it too short so I don't know what to do.
Well, that's a quick update and a chance for me to practice putting pictures on this thing. I hope it works out and I really hope I can keep up with this thing. Thanks for caring about us! We love you all!

The Dog Park
I'm finally getting to that 2nd post I promised. Our new favorite place to visit is the dog park. Every night at about six we hop in the car and drive to the park. We've made several friends: Cooper's parents, Brody's parents and Mac's parents. Don't worry, we did finally learn their actual names but for two weeks we all were missing an identity past our puppies. Cooper is a 5 month old vizsla and he is always hyper and starting to get really vocal, he barks all the time and aparently is getting to be a handful had home becasue he's only happy when everyone is in the front room together. Brody is a 9 month old black lab, he doesn't come much anymore because his dad (Jason) is getting busy with flight school. Mac is a black lab mix of some sort and he and Walle get along great. Every night there's new dogs and always something entertaining to watch. When the frog comes to visit we all have a good time. It doesn't taste good so the dogs each only licked it once :) Now they just follow it around pawing at it to keep it jumping. Basically the dog park proves to be a great time. Since Braden and I still dont' have much to do the dog park is the highlight of our days :) We'll try and get some pictures/video to some you. Hope everyone has a great day!

First Post Ever
Okay, so I am not really sure how this whole blog things work. I would love any tips that anyone would like to give. Pictures, video, posts, organizing this thing any info would be appreciated. But for now I will tell you a bit about our lives after two months of marriage.
Braden and I have been living in Alabama for almost two weeks now. The house is still not set up however, but we're working on it. We have started piling boxes in the back room so that I don't have to look at them in the living room :) We are all trying to get used to the heat. It reaches 100 degrees everyday and the humidity is a new thing. The puppies love the fenced yard but they love being inside even more. Disney basically housebroke herself and Walle, well he hasn't completely caught on yet. Our wedding pictures are in the mail so as soon as we get them we will put some on facebook and the blog (if I figure out how) so that you can see them. Right now we are still working on moving in and learning about how this blog works. I promise I will do my best to make it more interesting and exciting as time goes by.
